| CLOUD KEEPERS : GARDIENS DE NUAGES This exhibition concept where I combined Amazonian Indian’s portraits to urban and industrial landscapes has an artistic and a sociological dimension.In associating these two worlds, the first element sought after is a visual interaction through studies of symmetry, perspective, colors and negative space . But also symbolical with the techno-realism of these urban landscapes contrasting with the organic textures of kayapo culture.. Looking for a correspondence, a link between indigenous cultures and urban modern art, I also tried translating a fundamental question as to what is the place of indigenous cultures with the fast pace modernization of our societies.What is the place of these people whose culture is fading away, like a mirage.. Like a passing cloud.. |
